Mar. 2026: The publishers Burnham Press close for business

After fourteen successful years and a great deal of engagement with the public the independent publishers Burnham Press of Kingston upon Thames closed for business on 21 March 2026. The partners, now in their eighties, had decided to retire.

We wish to thank the readers of the Mary Hardy volumes most sincerely for your comments; your delight in the diarist and her world has given us a very deal of pleasure. In particular we thank the reviewers for their praise.

We hope that by archiving this website, having stripped all links to sales of the books, readers may still be able to learn more about Mary Hardy and her circle.
